Michael O’Leary… the gobshite might now charge for a wee

Michael O’Leary’s announcement today that he’s considering charging passengers for using the toilet while flying, left most people annoyed, but one Paddy Power punter bursting with delight!

The cheeky bookie was last year offering odds on what O’Leary would introduce next after the airline boss announced plans to install an in-flight mobile phone service. Power felt charging people to use the loo mid-flight was a step too far, even for the controversial O’Leary, and offered 100/1 on it happening.

Little did they know a year down the line the media magnet would actually be seriously considering charging commuters £1 to relieve themselves in the air! Such a bold move clearly didn’t appeal to Paddy Power punters as the bookie accepted just one bet from a shrewd punter who placed £3/€3.30 on a Ryanair wee-fee being introduced.

Although O’Leary has yet to confirm if he’ll introduce such a wee-fee, bookies Paddy Power have decided to pay out £300/€330 prematurely to the lucky punter who placed the bet.

Now if, like the Free Bet Bookmaker himself, you refuse to travel Ryanair, doesn't that just confirm what you've been thinking all along? That Michael O'Leary is a total gobshite. Seriously - £1 to go for a wazz on the plane? What will he think of next? He was on TV trying to defend the mobile phone fees, which at £3 a minute are reprehensible anyway. I'd rather swim the Irish sea than step on one of those yellow cattle carriers that he calls 'aeroplanes' or something daft like that. They're no better than a chance to bum you for more money than it would usually cost to take a proper airline. What a complete and utter twunt.

That said, the little gnob still hasn't introduced them, but no doubt he's thinking about it, along with the following ridiculous Ryanair charges that we've just come up with, such as:

3/1 - Oxygen masks are to be fitted with £2 coin slots for emergencies
5/1 - 'Seat' charge of £10 to be introduced as new 'super-economy' class takes shape
10/1 - Ginger charge of £5 for all carrot-tops
20/1 - £2 extra for a pooh

Paddy Power are betting 2/1 that Michael O’Leary introduces wee-fees on Ryanair flights in 2009.

Will Michael O’Leary introduce wee-fees in 2009?

1/3     No

2/1     Yes
