Oxford University favourites to top ITunes charts! Latest odds and free bet from Paddy Power

With news that both Oxford and Cambridge will go head to head and publish about 450 hours of free to download audio and video podcasts of lectures, films and college information through iTunes, bookmaker Paddy Power is betting which of the two academic institutions will win the technology race.

Oxford , who are currently 98th on the iTunes podcast chart, are 4/6 favourites with Paddy Power to top the podcast charts first while it’s just 8/11 that they hold a higher chart position than rivals Cambridge on 1st November.

As rivalries go, it’s one of the oldest – The University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge, collectively known as Oxbridge have, for over 750 years shared a fierce rivalry to be Britain’s most prestigious University.

A total of 25 Prime Ministers have hailed from Oxford but when it comes to Nobel Laureates, Cambridge has the edge on its rival. Usually competition between the pair can be seen at sporting events like the annual boat race and the Varsity Rugby match, but the battle between the two institutions has now moved into the age of technology.

Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power said: “The rivalry between Oxford and Cambridge runs deep. This latest battle will speak volumes about the Universities popularity and both sides will not want to lose!”
